Alphonzo Billups III of Varina High School (VA) has received an offer from St. John’s Men’s Basketball, today Verbal Commits Tweeted.
Billups, a 6-foot-7, 170-pound rising senior shooting guard, also owns offers from Rider, Pittsburg, Oklahoma State, Florida, Tennessee Tech, La Salle, Bryant, Wichita State, Bethune-Cookman, Appalachian State, Texas A&M, James Madison, Ole Miss, Richmond, Temple, Murray State, Clemson, and VCU, per VerbalCommits.com.
As I wrote in a previous article, Billups’ recruitment should continue to garner more college hoops attention, as he is a versatile player with smoothness, finesse, and good strength for a person his weight. Plus, he has the ability to score from all three levels, and is very good defender.
The Red Storm posted a 16-11 record and went 10-9 in the Big East Conference this past season.
