New WWE Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews, who captured the belt at WrestleMania over Big E, formally introduced his backup whom he feels will help him keep the highly-coveted strap in his corner.
Crews appeared on Smackdown with the gargantuan Commander Azeez, a 6-foot-10, 355-pounder who fought under the name Daba-Kato in Monday Night Raw’s short-lived Raw Underground segment.
Crews went on to say that Commander Azeez is a former member of the Nigerian Elite Guard, “and if anybody dares to come for my Intercontinental Championship, you will be annihilated by the ‘Nigerian Nail.'”
Commander Azeez first fought in NXT as Babatunde. His real name is Babatunde Łukasz Aiyegbusi, who previously played for numerous gridiron teams in the Polish American Football League and had a stint with the Minnesota Vikings during the 2015 preseason.
