Former Vermont guard Stef Smith today announced that he is transferring to the St. John’s Men’s Basketball team, in a Tweet.
Smith, a native of Ajax, Ontario, Canada, spent four seasons at UVM. The 6-foot-2. 185-pound point guard finished in third on the Catamounts’ squad in scoring average with 13.6 points per tilt this past year.
Smith also earned America East All-Conference Second Team in 2021 and First Team Honors in 2020.
He is the all-time leading scorer at Bill Crothers Secondary and was voted Athlete of the Year as a junior and senior.
UVM finished the 2020-21 campaign with a 10-5 record and went 10-4 in the American East Conference (AEC) play.
The Johnnies posted a 16-11 mark and went 10-9 in Big East Conference action in the 2020-21 season.
