The Rutgers Prep girl’s basketball team tipped off the season in a big way with a 73-39 lopsided victory over host North Hunterdon (1-1) in Skyland Conference action Thursday. Senior forward Christina Dalce poured in a game-best 17 points to pace the Lady Argonauts (1-0).
The Villanova-bound Dalce added nine rebounds, two blocks, two steals, and two assists in the the Rutgers Prep win. Freshman guard Mikayla Blakes contributed 14 points and four steals while sophomore Lady Argonauts newcomer Katie Ledden chipped in with eight points and five boards. Morgan Ryan added seven points for Rutgers Prep.
Sophomore Emma Hall scored a team-high 15 points and junior Jessica McLaughlin added 13 in North Hunterdon’s loss.
The Lady Argonauts return to the hardwood versus host Montgomery on Saturday at noon.
