Promise Opurum of New Rochelle High School (NY) has received an offer from Division II Chestnut Hill (Pa), today he Tweeted.
The 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward also has interest from D I Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Holy Cross, New Hampshire and Siena, per LoHud.com.
Coming off the bench, Opurum averaged 10.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks to earn all-section honors for the Huguenots and helped them make the Section 1 Class AA semifinals this past season.
Opurum’s hardwood skill set, per his coaches, includes being a good overall athlete and defender, as well as a proficient rebounder and a team-first player, with a good work ethic.
Additionally, Opurum can shoot with both hands, and scores more points with his left hand than his right.
Though Opurum, like several other high school ballers, missed the benefit of playing AAU hoops, his recruitment should pick up in due course.
Chestnut Hill posted a 6-22 record and went 6-13 in Central Athletic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play last season.
