Jaylen Blakes of Blair Academy hoops has picked up another offer, as Illinois Men’s Basketball has offered the senior point guard yesterday, per media reports.
Blakes holds offers from Division I colleges the likes of St. John’s, UCONN, DePaul, Georgetown–all of which are Big East colleges–as well as Texas, Harvard, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Iona, Penn State, Rutgers, and Yale, according to multiple sports outlets. And that list will surely grow in his senior campaign with the Blair Academy Buccaneers.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder is currently the third ranked player on the New Jersey high school basketball scene, per 247sports.com.
Moreover, Blakes is known to be a good student, with an admirable work ethic. Plus, he enjoyed a solid junior high school hoops season, scoring 207 points in 11 tilts, good for an 18.81 points per game average.
Illinois posted a 21-10 record and went 13-7 in Big 10 Conference play.
