The New York Mets have agreed to terms with left-hander Cam Opp on a minor league deal, today MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo Tweeted.
Opp, a United Kingdom native who attended West Point, and has pitched for the British national team, recorded a team-low 2.66 ERA to go along with his 5-2 record. Additionally, he posted four saves, which was second-best on the Black Knights. Plus, he registered 72 strikeouts, which was fourth-best on the team and seven-best in the conference.
Opp played two years of baseball at Christ School in Arden, N.C., where the 5-foot-11, 186-pound pitcher was an All-State and All-Conference selection. Plus, he earned the conference player of the year and team MVP during senior season.
