Morris Catholic girl’s sophomore Tyonna Bailey has added another offer to her ever-growing college hoops recruitment list, with Marquette throwing its collective hat into the ring, today her high school Tweeted.
Bailey’s Division I women’s basketball program offer index is quite impressive. It includes top women’s teams such as Fordham, Oklahoma, Howard, Ohio State, Michigan State, Purdue, Georgetown, San Jose State, Tulsa, University of Michigan, Seton Hall, among other schools.
Without saying, it is warranted. The 5-foot-10 Newark, N.J., native dropped in team-highs in points with 470, steals with 58, and assists with 127. Plus, she was second on the Lady Crusaders in rebounds with 284, good enough for New Jersey high school hoop insiders to consider Bailey one of the top female freshmen in the 2019-20 class.
Additionally, Bailey averaged 18 ppg and 10.9 rpg, helping her make Morris County First Team All-Conference.
An undeniable rising force on the Garden State girl’s high school hoops scene, Bailey helped guide the Lady Crusaders to a 17-11 record and a 58-48 defeat to Montclair Immaculate in the NJSIAA sectional tournament, North Jersey, Non-Public B Semifinal Round contest last season.
The Golden Eagles posted a 24-8 record and went 13-5 in the Big East Conference last year.
