The St. John’s women’s basketball team used a game-best 20 points and 11 rebounds from senior forward Raven Farley and sophomore guard Leilani Correa contributed 16 points and five boards.
The duo’s impressive game performance helped the Red Storm blow past Fairleigh Dickinson, 70-44, Saturday afternoon in its season opener at the Rothman Center.
Junior guard Kadaja Bailey, a Long Beach, Long Island, native and St. Mary’s High School alum, added eight points, seven rebounds, and a team-high six assists in the victory.
Junior Madeline Selvaggi paced the Knights with a career-high eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
The Red Storm (1-0) utilized three shutout runs–15-0, 8-0, and 12-0–to help distance itself from Fairleigh Dickinson (0-1).
St. John’s host St. Peter’s at Carnesecca Arena Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in its home opener.
