Morris Catholic girl’s sophomore Tyonna Bailey has earned an offer from Virginia Tech today, her high school’s basketball team Tweeted.
Bailey now has offers from top Division I women’s programs such as Fordham, Oklahoma, Howard, Ohio State, Michigan State, Purdue, Georgetown, San Jose State, Tulsa, University of Michigan, and Seton Hall, among others.
The 5-foot-10 Newark, N.J., native dropped in team-highs in points with 470, steals with 58, and assists with 127. Plus, she was second on the squad in rebounds with 284, good enough for NJ high school hoops insiders to consider Bailey one of best freshmen in the 2019-20 class.
Additionally, Bailey averaged 18 ppg and 10.9 rpg, helping her make Morris County First Team All-Conference.
An undeniable rising force on the NJ girl’s high school hoops scene, Bailey helped guide the Lady Crusaders to a 17-11 record and a 58-48 defeat to Montclair Immaculate in the NJSIAA sectional tournament, North Jersey, Non-Public B Semifinal Round contest.
