Morris Catholic’s sophomore Tyonna Bailey’s college hoops recruitment has been going rather well these days, as she received an offer from Fordham University Women’s Basketball this week. the high school’s basketball program Tweeted.
Bailey now has offers from Division I programs the likes of Oklahoma, Howard, Ohio State, Michigan State, Purdue, Georgetown, San Jose State, Tulsa, University of Michigan, and Seton Hall, among others.
Bailey is young and has all the necessary tools to succeed at the college ranks. The 5-foot-10 Newark, N.J., native dropped in team-highs in points with 470, steals with 58, and assists with 127. Plus, she was second on the squad in rebounds with 284, good enough for NJ high school hoops insiders to consider Bailey among talks for best freshmen in the 2019-20 class.
Additionally, Bailey averaged 18 ppg and 10.9 rpg, making Morris County First Team All-Conference.
An undeniable rising force on the NJ girl’s high school hoops scene, Bailey helped guide the Lady Crusaders to a 17-11 record and a 58-48 defeat to Montclair Immaculate in the NJSIAA sectional tournament, North Jersey, Non-Public B Semifinal Round contest.
Things will no doubt be exciting for Bailey and the Lady Crusaders in the 2020-21 season, as they’ve added a few players to an already talented core.
