Freshman Simone Pelish of Our Lady of Lourdes High School (NY) and AAU Hoopers NY 17U squad is already turning heads.
Playing beyond her youth, the six-footer owns offers from Division I Marist, Seton Hall, and Ohio State women’s programs. That’s not bad for a player who has not hit a high school court as of yet.
But Pelish’s AAU coach Dan Melious is not surprised, as he said she is the real deal, offering up high praise for the young guard/forward.
“Simone has a phenomenal jump shot, can get to the basket, and sees the court like a young Larry Bird,” Melious said.
She averaged 15.5 points, 6.1 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game with the Hoopers NY in the AAU season.
Melious said to look for big things to come for Pelish, who has been lighting up courts for a few years, and that is just the beginning for the up-and-coming star.
