Last week, junior Jordyn Pasqueralli of Division Avenue Senior High School in Levittown, Long Island, and Team Long Island Demarini, verbally committed to Adelphi to play softball and study, she Tweeted.
I am “very excited,” Pasqueralli, an outfielder/pitcher, said. “Adelphi checks all the boxes I was looking for.”
Among the criteria that had Pasquerlli picking Adelphi was how special the softball program made her and her family feel.
“Honestly, it was how the coaches made my family and I feel,” she said. “They made us so comfortable like they really cared about us.”
Additionally, Pasquerlli said, proximity to her home and the level of competition factored in her decision to accept Adelphi’s offer.
“I wanted to stay reasonably close to home, and play at a high level,” the Levittown native said. “Adelphi is 15 minutes from my house, so I’m close enough but since I’ll be dorming here, it’s the best of both worlds. And Adelphi is one of the top D 2 programs in the country, so it was a no brainer when they made the offer.”
The Panthers posted a 3-7 record before COVID-19 caused the cancellation of the Long Island sports spring season.
