Ibrahim Wattara, a 6-foot-5 small forward at Springfield Commonwealth Academy (MA), has committed to Division I Fairleigh Dickerson University (FDU), BlueChip Sports tweeted today.
The former player at Mount Saint Michael Academy in the Bronx also had offers from Bryant University, Iona College, and Saint Peter’s University. It came down to Saint Peter’s and FDU, according to sources, but he went with the Knights in the end.
Wattara, born in Togo in West Africa, moved to New York City at 11. He enjoyed a terrific high school career at Mount Saint Michael and became one of seven players to eclipse the 1,000-point mark at the Bronx school.
Additionally, the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) named Wattara to its first-team, all-league selection squad in his senior year.
