Winston Salem Christian (NC) power forward Jordan Wildy has committed to the Iona (NY) Men’s Basketball program, today he Tweeted.
Wildy, a 6-foot-10, 180-pound senior, went on to thank a slew of people for helping him get to this point in life, especially his parents. He has a real opportunity to suit up for an emerging hoops program, now under the tutelage of legendary head coach Rick Pitino.
As you probably guessed, Wildy’s height alone makes him a fierce inside presence. And his quickness enables him to close in on players from behind as they go to the basketball for the bucket, only to be vehemently denied.
Additionally, to make Wildy more special and hard to defend, he possess a sweet outside shot.
The only thing he will need to develop is to put on more weight to help him withstand the rigors of competitive Division I basketball. But it looks like the Gaels got a good one nonetheless.
Iona posted a 12-17 overall record and went 9-11 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) last season.
