Rutgers Prep forward Trey Patterson made it official today, of all days, his birthday, and he will be attending Villanova in the fall of 2021, today he announced live on YouTube, after unzipping his sweat jacket and revealing his Villanova tee shirt.
“I feel like I fit into their system well,” Patterson told his audience. “I feel they know what it takes to develop kids at the next level.”
Patterson’s highly-anticipated decision came down to Nova, Indiana and Florida.
Moreover, it seemed as if everyone was vying for his hardwood services. Patterson, a four-star versatile player known for his hard wok ethic and affable personality, had offers from the likes of Indiana, Auburn, Cincinnati, UConn, Florida, Georgetown, Georgia, Maryland, Rutgers, Seton Hall, NC State, Tennessee, Iowa, Miami, UCLA, Villanova, Xavier, TCU, and Wake Forest, among others.
That was quite a list of storied Division I Men’s Basketball colleges for the 6-foot-7 small forward who 247sports.com had ranked No. 33 nationally, No. 10 at his position, and number 2 in New Jersey in the 2021 class.
Patterson is currently the No. 26 prospect in the 2021 class, according to ESPN.
Make no doubt about it, it’s a huge score for Jay Wright and the rest of Nova’s program.
Patterson noted that he can’t wait to get to the Philadelphia area college and help the team capture another national championship.
