Matt Riddle Expected to be Called Up to WWE Main Roster Soon

Matt Riddle is headed to a WWE main roster, according to multiple media outlets.

Riddle has a cage match with former tag team partner Timothy Thatcher tonight on NXT on the USA Network, with special guest referee Kurt Angle.

This could be Riddle’s send-off match, setting him up to join one of the two WWE brands.

However, the Wrestling Observer believes that the “Orginal Bro” is likely headed to Smackdown on Fox.

Riddle, a former UFC fighter, last appeared on the main roster at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in January.

Whether Riddle winds up on the Raw or Blue Brand remains to be seen. But it does set up a few very interesting bouts on either show.

For instance, the Allentown, Penn., native could face the unbridled brute strength of Cesaro on Smackdown or the unparalleled athletism of the new United States Champion Apollo Crews on Raw, just to name a few.

But Riddle deserves the opportunity, without question.
