21 High School/College Transfers Committed to College Hoops

College of St. Rose transfer, Brooklyn native Sekou Sylla is going to Divison-II Nova Southeastern University (NSU), in Davie, FL. 

I have put together a list of 21 basketball players from the New York/New Jersey area who have committed to colleges as either a high schooler or college hoops transfer. 

Brooklyn Collegiate’s Amahrie Simpkins is going to D-1 JUCO Harcum College to play basketball.

Martin Luther King Jr.’s (Westchester, N.Y.) Romello Faison has committed to play basketball at Nassau Community College.

John Bowne’s Mussa Kone will be attending Division-3 SUNY Plattsburg to play hoops, while teammate Matthew Parkinson is headed to Division-3 SUNY Buffalo State.

Former Monmouth (NJ) guard Ray Salnave is now going to the Big East’s DePaul University as a graduate transfer for his final season of collegiate eligibility.

Chittenango High School’s (upstate, N.Y.) Cassidy Kelly will be attending Onondaga Community College Women’s Basketball’s program.  

Shequana Jackson has committed to the Division-2 University of Texas at Tyler. 

Guard Kaia Johnson has committed to Division-2 College of Staten Island of the East Coast Conference, while senior Kayla “K.Will” Williams is headed to Clarendon College. 

Brooklyn High School for Law and Tech’s Kiya Marquez will be attending Niagara County Community College (Sanborn, N.Y.) to study and play for the college’s Women’s Basketball team. 

St. Benedict’s Preparatory School’s Mounir Hima has committed to Division-1 Duquesne  University’s (Pittsburg, PA) basketball team. 

Lodi Immaculate Conception High School’s (NJ) Jariah Patterson has committed to Division-2 Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J. 

Wildwood Catholic High School (NJ) junior wing Marianna Papazoglou accepts Division-I University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) Women’s Basketball program’s offer.

Sekou Sylla is transferring to Divison-II Nova Southeastern University (NSU), in Davie, FL. 

Manhattan’s Eleanor Roosevelt High School point guard Elissa Leung will be attending Division-3 Baruch College on a full academic ride to study mathematics and play for the Bearcats Women’s Basketball team. 

Anjay Cortez, of United Faith Christian Academy, in Charlotte, North Carolina, accepted an offer from Divison-I Alabama A&M and will play for head coach Dylan Howard. 

Manchester Township’s junior wing/forward Destiny Adams has officially committed to the University of North Carolina (UNC).

The Patrick School’s (NJ) talented senior high school guard Noah Farrakhan committed to Division-I East Carolina University (ECU). 

Neptune High School graduate Dwaine Jones Jr. (’19) has committed to play basketball at Division-I Coppin State University, in Baltimore, Maryland. 

George Washington University graduate transfer Arnaldo Toro has committed to St. John’s University. 

Christ the King (Queens, NY) six-foot shooting guard Ryan Meyers, an East New York, Brooklyn, native has verbally committed to head coach Rick Pitino and Iona College.
