John Bowne High School basketball congratulated two of its seniors–Mussa Kone and Matthew Parkinson—on Twitter today on their comments to colleges.
Kone will be attending Division-3 SUNY Plattsburg, in Plattsburg, N.Y., while Parkinson will be headed to Division-3 SUNY Buffalo State, in Buffalo, N.Y.
Kone averaged 1.75 points and 1.66 rebounds per game in 12 contests and Parkinson posted three points and 3.53 rpg in 13 tilts in the 2019-20 season.
The pair fared better in the playoffs, with Kone scoring six points and grabbing eight boards in two games, while Parkinson averaged 8.4 ppg and 3.2 rpg in five games.
The Wildcats captured back to back PSAL Queens Borough Championships (2018-20) and finished with a 14-2 league record and went 7-1 in non-league tilts in the 19-20 campaign.
The Plattsburg Cardinals completed an 8-17 overall mark and went 5-13 in SUNY action, while the Buffalo State Bengals posted 6-16 record and compiled a SUNY Conference 4-14 record.
