It took just nine days for Wildwood Catholic High School (NJ) junior wing Marianna Papazoglou to accept Division-I University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) Women’s Basketball program’s offer, as her high school, along with herself, announced it on Twitter yesterday.
Papazoglou had offers from Manhattan College and Monmouth University, both of which are D-I athletic colleges, per WBBBlog.com, among visiting and receiving interest from a host of other schools.
But, in the end, she went with the Quakers, who get a versatile player with an intense drive for winning.
She went on to thank a number of people who helped and guided her along the way, and she said she is “beyond blessed,” on Twitter.
Papazoglou is a proven scorer, dropping in 473 points while grabbing 231 rebounds, and handing out 139 helpers, registering 26 blocks and making 89 steals last season.
As just a sophomore, however, Papazoglou drained an amazing 537 points.
She led the Lady Crusaders to a 22-5 record in the 2019-20 campaign and plays AAU hoops for the Philadelphia Belles.
UPenn posted a 20-7 overall record and went 10-4 in Ivy League Conference play last campaign.
