Shooting guard Tyler Moffe, a grad-transfer, had announced yesterday on Twitter that he has received a Division-I scholarship from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, in Charleston, South Carolina.
The Former Mansfield University Mountie started seven games at point guard before suffering a season-ending injury last season.
Moffe averaged 9.6 points, a team-leading 4.9 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game with Mansfield during the 2019-20 campaign.
Additionally, he scored in double-figures in three tilts, including a season-high 23 points in a win over Seton Hill. Plus, the 6-foot-1 Elmira, New York, native shot a team-best .947 percent from the foul line (18-of-19).
In the 2018-19 season, Moffe paced the Mounties with 16.8 points per game, good enough for the ranked 14th spot in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
Before playing at Mansfield, he was a member of the D-I University of Buffalo men’s basketball program.
Plus, Moffe starred at Elmira High School, where he averaged 20 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.0 steals per contest while shooting 43.2 percent from the field.
Moffe graduated from Elmira with numerous accolades, including becoming the school’s all-time leading scorer, and was named eighth-team All-State, All-Conference and to the All-Section IV Team.
