Clifford Omoruyi, a power forward from Roselle Catholic High School in Roselle, New Jersey, is staying home in the Garden State.
The four-star center today announced on Twitter that he has committed to Rutgers University. The six-foot-ten, 235-pounder chose the Scarlet Knights over the Arizona State Sun Devils and the Auburn University Tigers as part of his three final college selections.
Omoruyi, who was N0. 47 on ESPN top 100 high school hoops players’ list as of October 2019, also had offers from the University of Kentucky Wildcats, University of Maryland Terrapins, University of Louisville Cardinals, University of Connecticut Huskies, and the University of Florida Gators.
A straight-A student with a high celling, Omoruyi is a late bloomer, having only played “real” basketball for two and half years, according to SI.com.
Additionally, he’s excellent on both ends of the hardwood, and posses a hard driving motor that makes him difficult to stop.
