WWE Studios, Netflix Set to Debut Kid Super-Powered Movie, The Main Event

The Miz and the New Day will make guests appearances on the Netflix show The Main Event.

It seems as Netflix loves WWE, as The Big Show Show, starring who else but The Big Show, is set to debut on Monday, April 6th.

Up next for Netflix’s pro wrestling viewing venture is The Main Event (WWE Studios), set to air on Tuesday, April 10.

The movie’s plot follows 11-year-old Leo Thompson (Seth Carr), an avid WWE fan who discovers a magical Lucha-style wrestling mask that grants him super strength, speed, and fantastic in-ring abilities.

Leo uses the mask’s superpowers to ward off bullies at his school and to enter a WWE competition in which he runs roughshod over some of the toughest competitors the company has to offer.

The Main Event co-stars Tichina Arnold (Pam in Martin) Adam Pally, Ken Marino, and features WWE Superstars Kofi Kingston, The Miz, Sheamus, Otis of Heavy Machinery, NXT North American Champion Keith Lee, WWE Hall Of Famer Beth Phoenix, Mia Yim, Corey Graves, Renee Young, and six-foot-nine behemoth and NXT prospect Babatunde as the film’s gargantuan heel, Samson.

The Main Event is sure to bring out the inner pro wrestler in all of us. Well, at least me.
