Iona Prep’s Keeshawn Jones made it official as he committed to Divison III Western Connecticut University, the program announced today on Twitter.
Jones, who can suit up as either a guard or forward, averaged second-best in points per game (ppg) on the Gaels with15.1, which ranked in the top 12 in scoring in the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA), led in two-point field goal percentage at 61 percent, and three-pointers made percentage at 44.2 percent.
Additionally, the 180-pound Jones did more than drop the ball in the bucket. He led Iona Prep in steals and was second in rebounding and in assists per game.
Western Connecticut University Men’s Hoops posted a 20-8 record, won the NCAA Little Eastern Conference (LEC) Championship and advanced to the NCAA tournament.
