Three-star guard and former South Shore Viking basketball player Femi Odukale announced on his Instagram account Tuesday that he plans to attend the University of Pittsburg in the fall.
The six-foot-five, 180-pound Odukale played hoops this season at Springfield (Mass.) Commonwealth Academy after attending the Flatlands Avenue High School in Brooklyn, N.Y, where he won back-to-back PSAL Championships with the Vikings.
Odukale picked the Panthers over Seton Hall, Massachusetts, Virginia Tech and Saint Bonaventure, according to basketball sources. Femi is the fourth player to join the Panthers 2020 recruiting class.
Odukale, known for his fierce competitiveness and impressive athletic skills, will be joining fellow Brooklynite Justin Champagnie on Pitt’s roster. Champagnie played hoops at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Ft. Greene, Brooklyn. Justin’s brother, Julian Champagnie, plays for St. John’s University.
