After O’Donnell averaged 32 points on 20-of-40 shooting (.500), along with averages of 14 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and two blocks, and Kiley put up averages of 22 points, 13.5 boards, and five blocks, Skyline Conference women’s basketball named them Player and Rookie of the Week, respectivley, the conference office announced Monday.
The Bears posted a 2-0 record during the duo’s stellar week.
On Tuesday, O’Donnell drained a career-high 40 points on a 14-for-24 shooting night with five three-pointers in a win over Yeshiva.
Against Yeshiva, Kiley scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while swatting away five shots in just 22 minutes of action.
Additionally, versus SJC Long Island, Kiley amassed 19 points and pulled down 14 boards while rejecting another quintet of shots. The freshman big still ranks third in Division III women’s hoops with a program single-season record 81 blocks and sits fourth in the Skyline with 10 double-doubles.
It was Kiley’s fourth Rookie of the Week of the season.
St. Joseph’s (14-9, 12-6) sits in fourth place heading into the final week of the regular season with two games remaining on the schedule. The Bears head to fifth-place College of Mount Saint Vincent on Tuesday evening with a shot to secure the No. 4 seed and a first-round home game in the 2020 Skyline Conference Women’s Basketball Championship which will begin the following Tuesday.
