New Jersey’s High School Girls’ 2020 Morris County Basketball Tournament continued yesterday at Morris Knolls High School, with the final two quarterfinal tilts of the day shrinking the field to now four teams.
Here’s how the action shook out:

No 4 Villa Walsh vs. Fifth-Seeded Jefferson
Senior Kate Gehringer enjoyed an impressive overall game, scoring game-highs in points with 11 and seven rebounds, helping Villa Walsh to a 30-21 victory over Jefferson (17-3).
The triumph propels it to the semis, where it will play top-seeded Montville on Friday at County College of Morris.
The Lady Vikings (15-6) played fantastic defensive, even blanking the Lady Eagles, 7-0, in the second quarter.
Seniors Daniella Jambrina and Karin Brett chipped in with eight and six points, respectively. Jambrina added five boards while Brett had three rebounds, four assists, and six thefts.
No 1. Montville vs. Eight seeded Morristown
Bella Vito went off for 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and four steals, as the Lady Mustangs (19-0) toppled Morristown, 47-34, to advance to the semis, where it will face Villa Walsh.
Emma Wax added 14 points and five boards in the win for Montville.
Tara O’Neill led Morristown (13-7) with 13 points and Aziah Adams contributed 11 in defeat.
