It’s offical: as of Monday at 4:00 p.m., former South Shore shooting guard Kadary Richmond has committed to Syracuse University, according to multiple media outlets.
Richmond, who currently plays for Brewster Academy Prep in New Hampshire, is a consensus four-star shooting guard prospect who selected the Orange over other Division I schools, including Penn State, Seton Hall, Oregon, Kansas State, Georgetown and UConn, among other top programs.
The decision to attend Syracuse and play for reknowed coach Jim Boehiem comes on the heels of the six-foot-five-inch lanky wing’s visit to the Carrier Dome Saturday night for its exhibition opener against Daemen.
Richmond is currently No. 95 on ESPN’s Top 100 players in the nation list.
In addition, Richmond helped the Vikings capture back-to-back Public School Athletic League (PSAL) Championships in his final two-years at the Canarsie, Brooklyn, school.
