After four weeks in the books in the PSAL Bowl Conference, three teams remain undefeated. Two of those squads will be playing each other, as host New Utrecht faces Tilden Friday night at 6:00 p.m. in each others’ toughest battle of the season to date.
The Utes, in first place with 320 power points, have beaten Eagle Academy for Young Men III, defending champs Madison, McKee/Staten Island Tech, and Fredrick Douglas Academy.
Tilden, in second with 282 power points, owns wins against Port Richmond, Dewitt Clinton, East Harlem Pride, and Thomas Jefferson.
Junior quarterback Isaiah Wright has thrown for three touchdowns and rushed for two.
The Utes’ ground game features senior Christophe Molien, who has run for 342 yards on 65 carries with six scores while Michael Alexis has rushed for 369 yards on 43 touches with three touchdowns of his own.
New Utrecht’s defense has permitted just 16 points per game. Molien and senior Yvens Lambert, who has one fumble recovery, two sacks, and a safety, lead the team with 28 tackles apiece. Lambert also has a TD catch on his resume as well.
Senior signal-caller Isaiah Larrier has completed 37 of 53 passes for 412 yards and eight TDs and has hit pay dirt once on the ground.
Senior running back Do Morri West has amassed 239 rushing yards and two scores. Senior Kevon Patrick has been a beast with a total of seven touchdowns: two running, three receiving and a two on kickoff returns, one of which was a 90-yarder versus the Orange Wave in the Blue Devils’ 44-14 victory at Bernie Mars Field Friday night.
Tilden’s defense has allowed just an average of 12 points, with a 34-0 shoutout of East Harlem Pride.
Senior Armani Scott has registered 23 tackles, three pickoffs, and a TD on defense. He also has a touchdown reception to his credit.
The other undefeated squad is Bayside High School, who is ranked third in the division with 276 power points.
