Christ the King Regional High School girl’s basketball team in Middle Village, Queens, is off to a solid 8-4 start — 4-0 in Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) Brooklyn/Queens Class AA league play and 6-0 overall in the CHSAA.
The big reasons for the Lady Royals’ success is the play of six-foot wing Kaelynn Satterfield, who is the daughter of ex-NBAer Kenny Satterfield, and five-eight-inch combo guard Cavina Rickards, who’s committed to Florida State University.
Satterfield, who is ticketed to Ohio State University in the fall, has surprising quickness, and is a versatile perimeter player who’s also an excellent passer.
Additionally, Satterfield, rated 39 overall and eight in position in the 2019 HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankings – espnW 100, exploits mismatches with her fierce one-on-one, ankle-breaking ability.

As for Rickards, who is holds the 85 and 22 overall and by position, respectively, in the same ranking, is athletic, has a good mid-range jumper, and is impressive off the dribble.
Satterfield and Rickards give Christ the King every reason to believe it could win its second consecutive Catholic High School New York State Federation State Championship.
