USA Today came out with its New York State All-USA First and Second Teams yesterday, and New York City football is well represented.
On the offensive side of the coin, South Shore High School (Brooklyn) freshman running back Zuberi Mobley made the Second Team, while Erasmus Hall (Brooklyn) senior wide receiver Justin Bellido also got named to the Second Squad.
Defensively, Canarsie (Brooklyn) four-star defensive end Adisa Isaac earned Defensive Player of the Year Honors. The Penn State-bound senior recorded 25 sacks and 88 tackles, of which 34 were for a loss. He had over thirty scholarship offers, and should thrive as a Nitty Lion.
Poly Prep (Brooklyn) senior defensive lineman Jason Blisset made the First Team, as did Erasmus Hall junior linebacker William Mohan. Curtis (Staten Island) senior defensive back Prince-Elijah Degroat also garnered First Team accolades, and Christ the King (Queens) defensive lineman Jared Harrison-Hunte did as well.
Abraham Lincoln High School defensive back Israel Abanikanda picked up Second Team honors.
