While the Brooklyn Cyclones, the short-season New York-Penn League (NYPL) affiliate of the New York Mets, missed the playoffs by one game, they did lead the association in home attendance with 202, 495 fans during the summer of 2018.
Brooklyn, who plays at MCU Park on Coney Island, outdrew any other franchise by over 50,000 fans.
It was the 18th consecutive season, since the team’s inception in 2001, in which the Cyclones drew the most spectators in the NYPL.
The Cyclones are one of just two short-season clubs in the nation to draw more than 200,000 fans, according to BrooklynCyclones.com. This years’ attendance saw an increase of nearly 16,000 supporters from the 2017 season.
