New York Mets third baseman Todd Frazier is getting closer to a MLB return.
The two-time National League All-Star will be playing two games with the Brooklyn Cyclones – the Mets short-season, Single-A New York-Penn League (NYPL) affiliate – Tuesday and Wednesday, when the Cyclones take on the Tri-City ValleyCats, New York announced today.
The Mets placed Frazier on the 10-Day disabled list on July 9th with a rib injury. He was hitting .217 (49-226) with 10 home runs and 32 RBI in 61 games with the Mets this season.
The New Jersey native has played in two games with the St. Lucie Mets (High-A), going 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI on Saturday and Sunday.
