The Skyline Conference named sophomore Tim Driscoll Men’s Volleyball Rookie of the Year and he earned a spot on the All-Conference Second Team, the league office announced today.
Though it was a tough season for the St. Joseph’s College (Brooklyn) Men’s Volleyball team, Driscoll (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter’s) turned out to be a bright spot for the Bears, who posted a 3-16 (3-7 in Conference) overall record.
Driscoll becomes the first player in team history to receive the All-Skyline year-end honor and is the third Bear student-athlete (Kelly O’Donnell—Women’s Basketball, Deserae Sequeira—Women’s Soccer) this academic year to garner the Rookie of the Year honor.
The five-ten outsider hitter led all Skyline rookies with team bests in kills (100), service aces (14), and points (116.5). In addition, Driscoll recorded three double-doubles on the campaign, two in victories, most notably a season-high 16-kill, 10-dig performance in a 3-1 win over Sarah Lawrence.
