Former Brooklyn Cyclone and New York Met minor leaguer pitcher Casey Meisner has been traded again.
This time, the ex-Met third-round pick has been swapped from the Oakland Athletics’ system to the St. Louis Cardinals organization in exchange for fellow right-hander Josh Lucas, Oakland announced yesterday.
New York dealt Meisner, 22, to Oakland for Tyler Clippard in July 2015, during the Mets’ World Series appearance.
The A’s ranked Meisner as their No. 27 prospect.
The big, lanky Texan went 16-10 in 208 2/3 frames in parts of three seasons (2013-15) in New York’s system, including going 5-3 with a 3.75 ERA in 62.1 innings of work in 13 game starts in Brooklyn in 2014.
For his career thus far, Meisner has posted 30-34 mark with a 3.66 ERA in 491.2 frames in 104 appearances (85 starts).
