Ex-Brooklyn Cyclones right-handed pitcher Cameron Griffin has been transferred to the High-A St. Lucie Mets (Florida State League) from the Low-A Columbia Fireflies (South Atlantic League) Tuesday, according to a Columbia team official.

In his first appearance with his new club, Griffin allowed just one hit, with three strikeouts, and didn’t surrender a run in 1.2 innings of work in St. Lucie’s 10-5 win over host Dunedin Blue Jays Tuesday night.

Chosen in the 34th round of the 2013 MLB amateur draft, Griffin was 0-0 with a 2.08 ERA with four strikeouts in 4.1 innings in four contests with the Fireflies before his promotion.

The six-foot-three-inch, 200-pound Jonesboro, Ga., native posted a 1-0 record with a 2.00 ERA and seven whiffs in nine frames in five games with Brooklyn in 2013.

For his professional career, Griffin is 3-0 with a 1.96 ERA across 73.1 innings in 60 tilts.
